I am a designer/maker who works with glass, to create expressive, tactile and sometimes humorous sculptures which have all been inspired by human’s interactions with objects. My work explores the impressions made by human touch and finds inspiration in capturing snap shots of these moments, for example how we hold objects (i.e. a mug), what would the impressions look like if those objects had a memory?
Glass captivates me and I am intrigued by the many different ways in which it can be manipulated; shaping hot glass or by making moulds which directs the glass into any given shape, this allows me to produce a wide range of final effects.
Having fun, learning, experimenting and creating are important elements of my daily life which I try to translate into my art work. I want my pieces to appeal to a wide audience encouraging more people into the world of glass.
